How to set up the MERCUSYS Range Extender via WPS button

Эта статья относится к:

Introduction

Using the WPS button is an easy way to extend your host network. This guide walks you through a complete MERCUSYS Range Extender setup using WPS button.

Configuration

Here we take ME60X as demonstration.

Note: Some ISP gateways disable the WPS function by default. If the WPS connection fails, please set up the range extender via the web management page or MERCUSYS App.

Step 1. Plug the extender into a power outlet near your router (recommended within 3 meters). Wait until the Signal LED starts blinking orange or turns solid red.

Step 2. Press the WPS button on your host router, then press the RESET/WPS button on the extender within 2 minutes.

Note: The Signal LED will turn to flashing green during the WPS process.

Step 3. Wait until the Signal LED changes to solid green/orange, which indicates that the WPS connection is successful.

Step 4 (Optional). If you are connecting the extender to a dual-band router but only the 2.4GHz or 5GHz LED is on, repeat Step 2 and 3 to connect to the other band.

Step 5. Enjoy! Connect to the extended network and enjoy the Internet.

Extended Network Name: Router’s network name with EXT at the end

Password: Same as your router

Tips:

1. Since the performance of the extended networks will be affected by the distance between extender and host router, we recommend you to plug the extender into an electrical outlet between your host router and the Wi-Fi “dead“ zone. The location you choose must be within the range of your existing host network.

2. To minimize signal interference, please choose a location which is far away from Bluetooth devices and other household electronic devices, such as cordless phones, microwave ovens and baby monitors.
