This Article Applies to:

Introduction

This guide walks you through a complete MERCUSYS Range Extender setup using the browser-based web management page. You can access the extender setup page at mwlogin.net once your device is connected to the extender.

Requirements

A computer (recommended) or a mobile phone.

Put the Range Extender next to the host router. Power it on and wait for it to reboot completely.

Get the correct WiFi password of your host router.

Configuration

Note: Some models may not have the same page situation as in the picture, but the path is consistent. Refer to the text description for the correct path.

Step 1. Connect the device to the Range Extender

Method 1: Wired

Connect the computer to the Ethernet port on the range extender via an Ethernet cable.

Note: MW300RE and ME12 do not have the Ethernet port, please refer to Method 2.

Method 2: Wireless

Ensure the wireless device connects to the range extender's Wi-Fi network.

Step 2. Log in to the web management page of the range extender

Open Chrome, Firefox, or Edge for the best compatibility with the web management page. Type mwlogin.net into your browser's address bar and press Enter.

For details, please refer to How to log in to the web management page of MERCUSYS Range Extender.

Step 3 (Optional). Choose the operation mode.

Repeater Mode (Default): In this mode, the extender connects wirelessly to the host router’s network. Here we take Repeater Mode as an example.

Access Point Mode: In this mode, the extender must be connected to the host router’s LAN port using an Ethernet cable.

Note: MW300RE and ME12 do not support Access Point mode.

If this page doesn't appear, skip directly to Step 4.

Display the “Mode Selection” page.

Step 4. Select the 5 GHz host network

Select your host router’s 5GHz SSID (network name), enter its password (NOT the password you just created for web management), and click Next. If your extender or host router doesn’t support 5G WiFi, skip directly to Step 5.

Step 5: Select the 2.4G GHz host network

Select your host router’s 2.4GHz SSID (network name), enter its password (NOT the password you just created for web management), and click Next.

Step 6. Set your extender’s Wi-Fi name

Either keep the default SSIDs (network names) or customize them for the extended networks, and then click Next.

Step 7. Wait for the extender apply settings.

The extender will reboot to apply the new WiFi settings. Please wait 1-2 minutes for the process to complete.

Step 8. Setup Complete

Your extender setup is now complete. Relocate the extender to Connect to the extended network and enjoy the Internet. Both extended networks share the same wireless passwords as those of your host networks, but may have different network names if you have customized the SSIDs during the configuration.

Troubleshooting

Can't reach mwlogin.net? Try entering 192.168.0.254 directly in your browser's address bar instead. Make sure your device is connected to the extender, not another network. See What can I do if I fail to access mwlogin.net? for more help.

Setup wizard not appearing? Clear your browser cache and try again. Confirm that your browser is Chrome, Firefox, or Edge, and that you typed the address into the address bar rather than a search bar.
