MR70X — WiFi 6 Made Faster and Smarter

2021-01-13

MERCUSYS®, a reliable network device provider that specializes in providing the essential devices that form the backbone of any connected lifestyle, has announced the launch of its first WiFi 6 Router — MR70X, an AX1800 dual-band WiFi 6 router binding powerful WiFi 6 features, 4× advanced high-gain antennas, and the latest WPA3 security system, enabling more simultaneous connections, extended WiFi range, and reliable data transmissions that all satisfy the demand for a high-performance wireless experience.

If you are trying to experience the latest WiFi 6 standard and hoping to take your home WiFi to the next level at an affordable price, the MERCUSYS MR70X is a solid choice.

The Latest WiFi Standard – WiFi 6

As the number of devices rises dramatically, plenty of apps and services all compete for network resources, creating lag, and crowding your network. To solve this problem, WiFi is welcoming its new standard — WiFi 6. WiFi 6 brings next-generation WiFi technology into your home, giving you a quantum leap in capacity, speed, and range to handle all your WiFi demands. Perfect for high-performing, device-dense smart homes.

Lightning-Fast Speed. Wired and Wireless

With next-gen WiFi 6, both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz are upgraded to the latest generation, bringing you a brand new experience in speed. By combining features of 1024-QAM and a long OFDM symbol, MR70X delivers total speeds of up to 1800 Mbps – 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.

Game online, watch 4K videos, and crank up everything to the highest settings without lag. Equipped with both 4× gigabit ports, MR70X delivers ultra-fast internet access for wired devices.

More Streams, More Devices, More Fun

Today, the average number of devices for a home is 10+. This number is predicted to rise to 50+ within a few years. When more devices are added to a network, the performance usually slows down as routers can only communicate with one device at one time. This causes other devices to wait, reducing their speeds.

WiFi 6 has the challenging goal of improving the average throughput per user by a factor of at least 4× in dense user environments. To make WiFi sharing enjoyable, MR70X with the latest WiFi standard introduces several mechanisms to serve more users consistent and reliable data throughput in crowded wireless environments: OFDMA and MU-MIMO.

With MU-MIMO and OFDMA, MR70X transmits data to and from multiple devices at the same time, reaching up to 4× more capacity, greatly increasing your devices’ transmission efficiency and the throughput of your whole network under the same conditions.§

Overall Security Protection

Equipped with the latest security standard, WPA3, MR70X provides improved comprehensive WiFi protection to defend your devices and private information against brute-force attacks.

Protection Against Brute-Force Attacks

Prevents password-guessing attacks and delivers robust protection even when you are using a weak password

Your Data Is Safer

Forward Secrecy support prevents any captured data from being snooped even if a cracker compromises a session’s secret keys

Advanced Encryption Security

128-Bit Encryption, which is considered to be logically unbreakable, creates an active defense against security threats and intruders

About MERCUSYS

MERCUSYS’ mission is simple: to offer excellent internet access to as many people as possible. We believe that, in an increasingly connected world, everyone should have access to the tremendous wealth of information and entertainment that is available today. MERCUSYS is committed to being your trusted partner and broadening your horizons to include the infinite potential for valuable human connections that the internet provides.

Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Actual wireless data throughput, wireless coverage, and the number of connected devices are not guaranteed and will vary as a result of network conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors, including building materials, obstacles, volume, and density of traffic, and client location.

Use of 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), and features including OFDMA, MU-MIMO, 1024-QAM, BSS Color, and Target Wake Time requires clients to also support the corresponding features. Actual power reduction by Target Wake Time may vary as a result of network conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors. This router may not support all the mandatory features as ratified in Draft 3.0 of IEEE 802.11AX specifications. Further software upgrades for feature availability may be required.

§The 802.11ax white paper defines standardized modifications to both the IEEE 802.11 physical layers (PHY) and the IEEE 802.11 Medium Access Control (MAC) layer as enabling at least one mode of operation capable of supporting the improvement of at least four times the average throughput per station (measured at the MAC data service access point) in a dense deployment scenario.

The use of WPA3 requires clients to also support WPA3.
