Can’t find or connect to 6GHz Wi-Fi of MERCUSYS Router?

Ten artykuł odnosi się do:

The 6 GHz band is a new frequency range (5.925–7.125 GHz) that provides up to 1,200 MHz of additional spectrum. It was first introduced with Wi-Fi 6E and is now supported by the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology.

However, some phones or laptops may be unable to detect or connect to the 6 GHz Wi-Fi network. This article will share practical tips to help you resolve problems with devices not detecting or connecting to 6 GHz Wi-Fi signals.

1. Ensure your device supports 6GHz wireless signal

Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 is hardware-dependent. To use the 6 GHz Wi-Fi, both the router and the client device (e.g., phone, laptop) need to support 6 GHz. Devices manufactured before 2020 is not likely to support 6GHz Wi-Fi.

Below is some common wireless client devices that support 6GHz radio:

Note:

Your device includes 6G-capable hardware might not have 6G capabilities since the regulators of some regions have not approved the 6G band. We suggest you consult your client device manufacturer to find out if your client device supports 6Ghz Wi-Fi or not.

2. Ensure 6 GHz has been enabled in the current area

6 GHz has been adopted in some countries while in other areas, it is still under consideration or strictly prohibited.

Here are some countries that have opened 6 Ghz for reference.

3. Update Your Phone or Driver of your Wi-Fi adapter

Given that more devices are newly supported Wi-Fi 6E, some smartphones or computer Wi-Fi adapters need an update to support the 6 GHz Wi-Fi band.

For mobile devices, check if a software upgrade is required in order to enable 6 GHz.

For Wi-Fi adapters, please go to the manufacturer's official website to update the driver.
