How to change DNS server settings on my Halo
Introduction
You can change DNS server settings on your Halo system through the MERCUSYS App. You may need to do this to use a preferred DNS provider or to resolve network issues in a specific environment. This guide walks you through both the WAN and LAN DNS change options.
If you have a MERCUSYS wireless router instead of a Halo system, see How to Change DNS servers on the MERCUSYS wireless router
Requirement
1. Make sure the latest version of the MERCUSYS App is installed on your phone.
2. Connect your phone to the Halo's Wi-Fi network.
3. Close the MERCUSYS App if it is already running in the background.
4. Relaunch the MERCUSYS App.
Note: DNS settings can only be changed through the MERCUSYS App when your phone is connected to the Halo's Wi-Fi network and you are signed in with the owner account. The Halo must be running in Router mode to access these settings.
Configuration
1. Launch the MERCUSYS App, Tap More on the MERCUSYS App, then click on Advanced > IPv4.

2. Tap Internet connection type, disable Obtain DNS Automatically, type in your preferred DNS server settings, then click on Save.
Note: For reliable performance, we recommend using 8.8.8.8 for the Primary DNS and 1.1.1.1 for the Secondary DNS.

3. The new DNS settings will take effect automatically.

4. If your Halo doesn't allow you to change the DNS on the WAN, you may try to change the DNS on the LAN instead.
Go to MERCUSYS App > More > Advanced > DHCP Server page to set the DNS server manually, and click on Save to save the settings.
